Basic – Level One

Aqua Environmental recognises the need for the water industry to provide high quality training services in order to attract and maintain professional personnel. Training courses are completed by our current managers and site supervisors; who have huge industry experience in site leak detection activities.

The Basic Level One leak detection training course aims to provide a background knowledge of leak detection principles and activities to Leak Detection Trainees or those wishing to enter the water loss industry.

The Basic Level One course is completed over two days and includes theoretical and practical sessions in the following:

Theory

  • Water supply systems.
  • Map reading and interpretations.
  • Water loss management initiatives.
  • Active leakage reduction initiatives.
  • Equipment parameters.
  • Limitations and exceptions.
  • Customisation and adaptability.
  • Leakage reporting.
  • Site safety.

Practical

  • Leak sound identification.
  • Ambient noise identification.
  • Methodology training.
  • Equipment set up and fault finding.
  • Specific equipment scenarios.
  • Real on-site leak detection activities.
  • Leakage reporting.
  • View of leakage and repairs.

Candidates are required to successfully complete theoretical and practical competency tests on water leakage to obtain Basic Level One. We recommend candidates progress to Intermediate Level Two approximately six months after successfully completing Level One.
