Leak Correlation

Leak Correlation utilises sensitive computer technology to listen for water leaks and give an accurate indication of leakage location. This is an extremely useful tool for non-visible water leaks and helps Clients reduce excavation costs.

Aqua Environmental has four specific brands of leak correlation devices: Palmer MicroCorr Digital, Echologics LeakFinderRT, Gutermann AquaScan 610 and Fuji-Tecom LC2100. Having this vast range of correlation equipment allows Leakage Technicians to alter their equipment choice to match each specific correlation.

While all correlation devices usually give a leakage location within a similar vicinity; 1% difference over a larger distance can be a few meters. We are able to customise which correlator to use specific to each pipe material and environment to allow greater accuracy.

Leak Correlation is conducted over the length of water main where Leakage Technicians believe the leak is present. This is determined by the noise generation on nearby fittings. Two sensors “bracket” the water leak and the variables (pipe material, diameter and length) are entered into the processor. The processor then utilises this information to determine pipe velocity.

We are a brand independent service provider meaning we are able to customise our equipment fleet to produce the better results and are specialists in leak correlation of pipes that have failed pressure/commissioning tests.
