Recent Projects
Aqua Environmental has extensive experience on projects in Australia, New Zealand and Asia and have developed excellent relationships with some of the regions largest water authorities and most reputable companies.
Some recent projects include:
- Sydney Water
- Currently engaged to survey in excess of 6,000km per year (2010-13). Involvement in the Sydney Water Leak Detection Project since 2000; having surveyed in excess of 22,000km in 9 years.
- Yarra Valley Water
- Currently engaged to survey approximately 5,000km per year in the south-east suburbs of Melbourne – involvement in 2004-2005 and from 2008 to current.
- Melbourne Water
- Engaged in November 2009 to survey over 40km of 1150mm to 1400mm steel water main with Pure Technologies’ SmartBall technology to detect leaks in large diameter pipelines.
- United Water Adelaide
- Currently involved in a 4,100km leak detection project in Metropolitan Adelaide; commenced in February 2009 and due for completion by August 2010.
- Rio Tinto Iron Ore
- Accredited contractor for supply of leak detection services to remote mining towns on annual basis; including survey of town supply, mining plants and leak correlation surveys on AC and PVC mains.
- Horowhenua District Council
- Preferred supplier of leak detection services; completed projects in May 2009 and June 2010 in Levin and surrounding areas. Involves approximately 250km of survey work per year.
- Water Corporation (Perth)
- Engaged in August 2009 to part take in a pilot project to assess feasibility of leak detection survey work in Perth, Western Australia. Involved a survey of approximately 70km of water main.
- REC Group
- Project completed in July 2009 involving mobilisation of crew and equipment to Singapore within 24hours of receiving notice. Work completed on 600mm DICL fire ring main on large new site; found a total of five leaks allowing hydrostatic test to be completed.
- Big 4 Holiday Parks / Camp Grounds
- Engaged on four separate occasions to detect leaks in large complicated holiday park sites in Victoria and New South Wales – all with extremely sandy soil and poor maps showing pipe layouts.
- Water Conservation Group
- Involvement in a number of small projects to identify locations of leaks on large commercial or industrial premises for their Clients.
- Diamantina Shire Council
- Engaged in December 2009 and January 2010 to complete leakage survey work in two Regional Queensland towns; Bedourie and Birdsville.
- Shoalhaven Water
- Project completed in October 2009 under the LGSA NSW Water Loss Management Program involving the survey of over 200km of water mains.
- Killard Excavations
- Preferred supplied of leak detection services on new pipeline installations that fail hydrostatic pressure tests; mostly large diameter DICL (rubber ringed joints). Often completed with under two hour mobilisation.
- CLM Infrastructure
- Preferred supplied of leak detection services on new and exisiting pipeline installations that fail pressure tests; mostly 600mm diameter Ductile Iron.
- McCourt Dando Civil
- Engaged in August 2009 for leak detection work on new pipeline installation for large high profile water project in Sydney.
- Mumbai Municipal Corporation
- Engaged to consult with Indian firm on how to address leakage in Mumbai; included site visit and equipment demonstration in August 2009. Work continues to be ongoing.
- HydroTasmania
- Engaged in June 2009 to detect leak on large diameter (2000mm) water main at underground hydroelectric power plant in Tasmania.
- United Water (New Zealand)
- Engaged on a weekly basis to find reactive leaks and investigate potential leakage locations mostly on PVC, HDPE, MDPE or Blue Brute pipelines in Auckland.
- Armidale Dumaresq Council
- Engaged as a part of the LGSA NSW Water Loss Management Program to detect leaks on 14km of water mains in the town area. Results indicate that the MNF’s will be significantly reduced by the identification and repair of these leaks.
